Shelters

In-Ground vs. Above-Ground Storm Shelters

When considering an Arkansas storm shelter, homeowners typically choose between two types: in-ground and above-ground.

Studies from Texas Tech University’s Wind Science and Engineering Research Center have shown that both types of storm shelters, when properly installed, offer near-absolute protection from even the strongest storms.

Our in-ground tornado shelters

These are installed below the surface, usually in garages or yards. They offer excellent protection and are less likely to be damaged by flying debris.

Below is an example shelter installed in the garage of a home. By installing it in the garage floor, homeowners are not exposed to any weather elements when accessing the shelter. It does not restrict access to the garage or become an obstacle to storage.

Our Saferooms

Saferooms can be built into an existing structure, stored in your garage or built into a new construction job. From stand-alone steel structures in a garage to reinforced master closets, clients have incorporated safe rooms directly into their homes.

Above-Ground Storm Shelters: Constructed with reinforced steel or concrete, these units are bolted to your foundation.
